Implementation

IIT Hyderabad has a two pronged strategy for effective teacher training. General workshops are conducted for faculty in various schools/colleges across the country. Parallely, individual colleges are identified and department wise training is imparted. This is done in two phases.

In the first phase, all faculty in a college department are imparted training at their institute by an IIT H faculty. The IIT H faculty first demonstrates a teaching technique in the class comprising of students from the college in the presence of the college faculty. The college faculty then practices the same technique with the students under the supervision of the IIT H faculty. All the faculty in the concerned department witness this exercise and are expected to practise it in their courses.

In the second phase, the college faculty come to IIT Hyderabad for feedback sessions and brainstorming.
